Whether you’re chasing a bull elk up a mountain, or a flock of pheasants at the back of beyond, you need boots that can handle miles and miles of the toughest ground around. Irish Setter Havoc boots deliver, with a sole designed for rugged country and maximum comfort. Match that with an upper that combines protection from the elements, stability, and the highest quality materials, and you’ve got a boot ready to hunt whenever, and wherever, you are.

The Havoc 801 features these technologies:

This construction features authentic hand sewn construction methods. The conforming leather upper is hand sewn to the sole, providing out-of-the-box comfort and flexibility without sacrificing stability and support. Perfect for that athletic on-the-move hunter.

CuShin™ Comfort tongue technology was designed to minimize pressure some hunters feel on their shin from the top of the boot tongue. A four-way stretch nylon offers relief and flexibility while walking, and an internal padded waffle mesh maintains premium comfort.

Trout Brook Leather

Handcrafted by our S.B. Foot Tanning Company, this leather is crafted exclusively for our Irish Setter brand and is named after the trout brook which flows just outside the back door of the tannery in Red Wing, Minnesota. Using only U.S. raised steer hides, the master tanners at S.B. Foot use time- proven methods to create the most durable leather, leather that will meet the demands of the toughest trail or job site.

The GORE-TEX® membrane blocks moisture from the outside, while allowing moisture inside to evaporate. GORE-TEX® has over 9 billion pores per square inch that prevent water from getting to your feet while allowing sweat vapor to pass right through, keeping your feet dry and comfortable in all conditions.

Care Options

It's well known that proper care and routine maintenance will extend the life of our cars or homes. The same holds true for premium boots. Get the most out of your Irish Setter boots by following our recommended three step process of cleaning, conditioning and protecting them with products designed specifically for that purpose.

A well-prepped, clean surface enhances success when applying conditioners and protectants to your footwear. To clean any of our waterproof leather footwear, you can simply use water and a clean cloth. We recommend Essential Leather Cleaner for our non-waterproof leather boots.

NaturSeal™ is the best performer for conditioning waterproof leather boots. NaturSeal™ is a leading-edge conditioning formula which uses breakthrough technology to penetrate waterproof leather, enhancing breathability and pliability. If you prefer to use a wax instead of a liquid, we recommend our Original Mink Oil Paste. To condition oil tanned leather footwear, we recommend the Original Mink Oil Paste or All Natural Boot Oil.

Our Essential Leather Protector creates an invisible shield of protection for leather and fabric, and is recommended as the final step in our care process.

To ensure your rubber footwear stays in good condition wipe or spray with lukewarm water after use and allow to dry naturally. If soap is required for additional cleaning, we recommend using a non-scented soap. Store all footwear in a cool, dry, location avoiding direct contact with any heat source, extreme cold or sunlight.

By taking time for proper care of your footwear, you'll not only notice better performance in the field, but your Irish Setter boots will last longer too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don’t waste your money I’ve been in the landscaping trade for 20yrs and these are By far the worst boot I’ve ever owned! Waterproof none! Sole wore out with in months they sent me another pair same with those. Redwing will stand behind their product for one replacement told me after that they can’t do anything for me and sent me a 25 dollar coupon lol two pairs of these boots didn’t last me a year. Obvious defected product reading the other reviews a lot of the same issues I’ve had

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great fit. Good comfort. Not lasting I bought these boots about three weeks ago. At first these were great. Nice fit and no work in period. I am a very active hunter and walk about 30 miles each weekend hunting pheasant in central Iowa. These boots started to have the stitching rip after a week and now lost their waterproof ability. I have maintained the boots with mink oil as suggested by redwing employees but it did not seem to slow down deterioration. If you walk tall thick grass I would look at the wing shooters my friend seems to have been having better luck with those.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from your feet's best friend This is my second pheasant season in my Havoc boots, and they have done a heck of a job. I'll preface the details by saying that I have had various foot problems for many years (plantar fasciitis, inflammation, etc.) and I have a low arch. Not to mention that I need to wear a heel shim in my left boot because of a slightly shorter leg. The Havoc boots were comfortable right out of the box. I hunt 25+ days a season, walking between 5 and 10 miles on each trip afield. I walk through wet cover, mud, thickets, corn stubble, and generally beat the heck out of my boots. The Havocs never let me down, and my feet feel great all day long. I apply mink oil once or twice a year, and that helps maintain the leather. These boots have an inner Gortex membrane, so I fail to see how some reviewers claim that the Havocs are not waterproof. I have had almost no trouble in that regard, and have absolutely soaked these boots on wet mornings in the tall grass. Also, if you have sweaty feet, as I do, your socks will be wet when you remove your boots. That doesn't bother me at all. In fact, it allows me to wear the Havocs into the winter and colder temp's, even though they are not insulated. When these finally wear out, I'll gladly buy another pair of Irish Setter's!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Comfortable and lightweight but not waterproof Very comfortable and lightweight boot but they are NOT waterproof. I can't walk across my lawn when there is dew on the ground without getting wet feet. My last pair kept my feet bone dry after 15 years of use. I could stand in shallow water and not get wet. That was main reason I cam back to Irish Setter again but the Gor-tex lining is a complete failure in the boots I received.
