Whether you’re chasing a bull elk up a mountain, or a flock of pheasants at the back of beyond, you need boots that can handle miles and miles of the toughest ground around. Irish Setter Havoc boots deliver, with a sole designed for rugged country and maximum comfort. Match that with an upper that combines protection from the elements, stability, and the highest quality materials, and you’ve got a boot ready to hunt whenever, and wherever, you are.

Stable comfort in a lightweight boot.

The Havoc 801 features these technologies:

This construction features authentic hand sewn construction methods. The conforming leather upper is hand sewn to the sole, providing out-of-the-box comfort and flexibility without sacrificing stability and support. Perfect for that athletic on-the-move hunter.

CuShin™ Comfort tongue technology was designed to minimize pressure some hunters feel on their shin from the top of the boot tongue. A four-way stretch nylon offers relief and flexibility while walking, and an internal padded waffle mesh maintains premium comfort.

Trout Brook Leather

Handcrafted by our S.B. Foot Tanning Company, this leather is crafted exclusively for our Irish Setter brand and is named after the trout brook which flows just outside the back door of the tannery in Red Wing, Minnesota. Using only U.S. raised steer hides, the master tanners at S.B. Foot use time- proven methods to create the most durable leather, leather that will meet the demands of the toughest trail or job site.

The GORE-TEX® membrane blocks moisture from the outside, while allowing moisture inside to evaporate. GORE-TEX® has over 9 billion pores per square inch that prevent water from getting to your feet while allowing sweat vapor to pass right through, keeping your feet dry and comfortable in all conditions.

Care Options

It's well known that proper care and routine maintenance will extend the life of our cars or homes. The same holds true for premium boots. Get the most out of your Irish Setter boots by following our recommended three step process of cleaning, conditioning and protecting them with products designed specifically for that purpose.

A well-prepped, clean surface enhances success when applying conditioners and protectants to your footwear. To clean any of our waterproof leather footwear, you can simply use water and a clean cloth. We recommend Essential Leather Cleaner for our non-waterproof leather boots.

NaturSeal™ is the best performer for conditioning waterproof leather boots. NaturSeal™ is a leading-edge conditioning formula which uses breakthrough technology to penetrate waterproof leather, enhancing breathability and pliability. If you prefer to use a wax instead of a liquid, we recommend our Original Mink Oil Paste. To condition oil tanned leather footwear, we recommend the Original Mink Oil Paste or All Natural Boot Oil.

Our Essential Leather Protector creates an invisible shield of protection for leather and fabric, and is recommended as the final step in our care process.

To ensure your rubber footwear stays in good condition wipe or spray with lukewarm water after use and allow to dry naturally. If soap is required for additional cleaning, we recommend using a non-scented soap. Store all footwear in a cool, dry, location avoiding direct contact with any heat source, extreme cold or sunlight.

By taking time for proper care of your footwear, you'll not only notice better performance in the field, but your Irish Setter boots will last longer too.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Extremely comfortable boot, the soles are absolute trash, not an everyday boot. I am a farm manager and I do wear these boots at least eight months out of the year everyday. I also use these boots hunting. Extremely comfortable boot right out of the box that is the reason that I keep buying them. I have had four pair with all of them not holding up over time. The boot is extremely light but the sole is absolute trash and I mean trash they do not hold up over time at all. if you want an extremely comfortable boot to just hunt out of and wear occasionally this is the boot for you but if you are someone that works in extreme conditions out in the elements all the time and wear them hunting. Invest in another boot. This is not an everyday boot unless you plan on buying a lot of them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent choice for a lighter weight hunting boot I have had these almost 3 years now and am still pleased with my purchase. My only gripe about this boot is the gortex lining bunches up on the outside of my ankle which is annoying if I wear thinner socks (this might not be an issue with the 9"). Thicker socks add some cushion and I have to be careful lacing these as it can feel like a bunched up sock hitting against the ankle. I considered cutting the fabric here but that would compromise the waterproof ability of the boot. If not for that it would be a 5 star boot for me. I don't wear these everyday, but have put some mileage on them in fall and winter seasons in mud, snow and water. These kept my feet dry after I fully submerged them in low swampy areas, no leaks which surprised me seeing they were in standing water up to the top eyelet. I have always taken the "waterproof" concept of any shoe with a grain of salt but these have infact not leaked on my yet. Overall a winner, and I would recommend to the avid hunter or outdoorsman that don't wear them to work as I can wreck any pair of boots in 6 months doing carpentry or landscaping. Attached is a pic of my 3 year old boots (these are the 7" Havoc model).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from If you are looking to keep your feet dry don't buy them! They are a rugged boot and the comfort fit and feel are top notch. After talking to sales person at the Red Wing Store where I bought them (little over a year after purchase) she said the following. The gore tex really won't last much longer then a year! I have put the water seal on them that they sell and they still leak. They are a good boot, if they lived up to the product description (waterproof) a super great boot! I have had the boots for 1 yr and 4 months. It would be nice if Red Wing would stand behind there products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliability and Comfort Had these boots for over 4 years. Use them once a month on hard up country treks. Needs maintenance. Used the leather boot cleaner and wax after use. Fits perfectly and extremely comfortable. I love it and will buy it again without hesitation.
