Rated 5 out of 5Â by Dave0202 Solid, good-looking, casual boot
I've been wearing the Bar Boot for several weeks now, and it's the best rugged-casual footwear I have yet to own. Comfortable out of the box, the boots look great with work jeans or even a pair of chinos. The textured leather wears as well at church as it does out on the trail. Definitely recommended if you're looking for a do-it-all boot from a solid company.

Mine too, have a blemish in the sole, but I mentioned it to my salesman before I left the store. She said she was going to have to send them back. I bought them from her any way and I'm glad I did. I wear them all day, every day. They are the only footwear I own that I can wear all day and not have pain in my ankle (i broke my ankle last year). I also bought at the same time a pair of the Red Wing moc toe boots from the Heritage line. I've worn them 4 times. Not because they are uncomfortable, but because the bar boots are by far the most perfect boot I've come in contact with. From the rough out leather to the gum soles, they are perfect. Even if the gum greys with age, which I think adds character.

Done even need to break them in. Most comfortable boot ive ever owned. I want to go out and buy ten pair just to have incase they so m stop making them. Gum soles don't have a heel which I think makes then the most comfortable. I stand all day on cement with these and feel great. Def reccomend them to anyone. Previous comment worries about a flat spot on the sole...who cares..i dont know if mine do or dont but it makes no difference to me. Only downside to the boots is kinda low quality laces that are too long... easy fix

I bought these boots at Gander Mountain thinking they were a good looking boot and tried them on and they were very comfortable right out of the box. When I got them home and removed the boot I didn't try on in the store, I noticed a flaw on the front of the sole of the right boot. It was squared off and didn't match the roundness of the front of the left boot. So back to the store I went. When I got to the store and started opening the other boxes of size 12 boots, they were all like this!!! Every right boot in size 12 was squared off on the front (I will attach pics to show what I'm talking about). Thinking I could live with it, and liking how comfortable the boots were, I went ahead and kept them. That night, I wore them out for an evening with friends at our local tavern (hey, they're called the bar boot right?). This is when I became really disappointed with the boots. The cool gum color of the outsoles lasted for about, oh, 15 minutes. By the end of the night the outsole had turned almost black. When I tried to return them the next day, they looked so bad that they wouldn't take them back. So I was out $180.00. I still wear the boots from time to time to work, but that's about it. While the boots are still comfortable, I am terribly disappointed with how they look. I came to this site to see if there was a way to have them resoled with a different outsole but it looks like that is a no. So I'll be taking them to someplace local to have it done. Just wanted to be sure that no one else wastes their money on these boots.
